Having to watch this history movie has become one of my favorite movies with the scenes that I the patriot movie essay chosen. It was when Benjamins 2nd oldest son was shot by one of the British cruel leaders. He was killed because he was trying to free his oldest son Gabriel and was shot instead. He got his sons, the guns and went after them to get his oldest son. They ended up killing all the soldiers and made sure they all died and ended up freeing his son from getting executed.


The reaction I got from this part of the movie was very shocking that they would kill a kid and burn down a whole house. What I liked about it though was that he went after his son and did not care about what he had to do, he just had to decide it and go after it, the patriot movie essay. The film portrays a lot of material from this time period; however there are some things that are inaccurate, besides the weaponry. In the first shot of the film, two of the children are seen playing with alphabet cards.

The main character, Benjamin Martin, is a veteran of the French and Indian war who wants independence from Britain, but is not willing to risk the safety of his already motherless children by going to war. He did not approve of his oldest son Gabriel joining the Continental Army but Gabriel wanted to so bad that he went behind his fathers back to sign up anyway.


This caused problems for him because they found him and threatened him on his own land. The killing of his son when the British came to his home caused him to react and want to go to war with them.
